About My R2R
Well, I’m glad that you are at least interested in what this is all about. It’s a long story really, but I’ll try to keep it short.
How should I start? I know! I’ll start by explaining what “My Reason To Run” is and then if you want the full story you can check out my daily blogs here to try to understand me better.
“My Reason To Run”, is quite simply, my personal effort to do something important with my life. Not that I’ve wasted the first 46 years, mind you! Just that I realize that if there is to be another 46, I’d really like for them to stand out.
MY REASON TO RUN is:
Me running the 35th Annual Marine Corp Marathon; enlisting friends, family, businesses, strangers and anyone that I can get, to support me by donating $1 for every mile that I will run in the Marine Corp Marathon (a total of $26.20) all of which will go to support THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.
That’s really all there is to it. If you believe, like I do, that one person can make a difference, then I’d like to invite you to “run” with me. I promise that you won’t feel a thing. As a matter of fact you don’t even have to leave your computer. For a minimum donation of $26.20 I will run with your name on a specially made shirt just for this occasion.
What’s in it for you?
- You support the Wounded Warrior Project directly.
- You Support Me and my goal
- Your name on my shirt as a Proud Supporter
- Your Donation is Tax Deductible.
- You can follow my progress and be a part of this team.
- You publicly proclaim that you support our troops.
What’s in it for me?
- Pain!
- Over 750 miles in training runs.
- If I survive and finish, I get a Medal.
- No money what so ever!!!!!
- Oh and did I say Pain (and possible death)!
So, I need your support! But more than that… Shouldn’t we do something for the bravest amonst us? I ask you, if you take a serious look inside of yourself, whether you agree with the war or the politics of the conflict we find ourselves in, shouldn’t we take care of those who put everything on the line? To me, it’s simply YES and that’s why I am doing this!
If I only raise my own $26.20 then I’ll be satisfied with that, because I will have taken a stand. However, I would Love to have your name with mine in support of the Wounded Warrior Project.
I make this promise to you right now, “IT’S NOT ABOUT ME – IT’S ABOUT WWP!”
Every mile will make a difference!
